OpenBook (openbook.fyi) is a web-based grants database launched in January 2023 by Rachel Weinberg, with contributions from Austin Chen. It aggregates grant data from Open Philanthropy, FTX Future Fund, EA Funds, and the Survival and Flourishing Fund into a single searchable interface. The site was designed to help donors understand where money in EA has flowed, help grant applicants identify relevant funders, and give the general public visibility into EA philanthropy. Development ceased after July 2023 when Weinberg transitioned to a full-time engineering role at Manifund.

Theory of Change
By making EA grant data searchable and transparent, OpenBook aimed to improve the efficiency of EA funding markets: helping funders avoid duplication, helping promising projects find appropriate funders, and giving the broader community visibility into where philanthropic resources were going. Greater transparency in grantmaking was expected to improve coordination and reduce information asymmetries in the EA ecosystem.
