The Long Term Future Fund (LTFF) is one of the four funds managed by Effective Altruism Funds. It makes grants addressing global catastrophic risks, with a special focus on risks from advanced artificial intelligence and global catastrophic biological risks. The fund primarily makes grants of 4-6 figures to individuals and organizations working on technical AI safety research, cause prioritization, existential risk identification and mitigation, biosecurity, and longtermist field-building. Originally launched in 2017 with Nick Beckstead as sole manager, the fund is now led by Caleb Parikh and a team of fund managers. LTFF paid out $5.36 million in grants from May 2023 to March 2024 with a 19.3% acceptance rate.
