Meridian Cambridge
Meridian Cambridge (legal name: Meridian Impact CIC) is a Community Interest Company based at 53-54 Sidney Street, Cambridge. It operates as a shared workspace and program hub for researchers and practitioners working on AI safety, biosecurity, frontier-risk policy, and related cause areas. The organisation incubates and hosts several initiatives including the Cambridge AI Safety Hub (CAISH), Cambridge Biosecurity Hub, UK AI Forum, and the Cambridge Long View Initiative, as well as running its own research labs and fellowship programmes. With over 100 members drawn from the University of Cambridge, local think-tanks, and visiting researchers worldwide, Meridian's core model combines coworking infrastructure, structured programmes, and incubation support to help ambitious individuals turn ideas into funded research projects.

Theory of Change
Meridian's theory of change centres on talent development and field-building: by providing physical infrastructure, structured programmes, community, and incubation support in one of the world's leading research hubs, it lowers barriers for researchers to enter and remain in AI safety and biosecurity work. By hosting CAISH, biosecurity, and governance hubs under one roof, it creates cross-pollination between technical and policy researchers. Its research labs and visiting researcher programmes aim to accelerate the production of concrete, fundable safety research. Over time, the cumulative output of well-supported researchers working on AI alignment, interpretability, and governance is expected to reduce the probability of catastrophic outcomes from advanced AI.
