Updated 03/23/26Timothy Underwood is a self-published fiction author born in Southern California who lives in Budapest, Hungary. He studied early modern history at UC Berkeley and has made a living for years writing Pride and Prejudice fan fiction variations, with popular titles including Mr. Darcy and Mr. Collins's Widow, Colonel Darcy, and A Compromised Compromise. In 2022, he received an ACX grant (from Scott Alexander's ACX Grants program) to fund writing a fantasy novel promoting Effective Altruism.
