Chloe Lee
Bio
Chloe Lee (Chui Yee) is an independent researcher based in London, UK, focused on biosecurity, pandemic preparedness, global health and development, and farmed animal welfare. She received a $25,000 grant from the Long-Term Future Fund to study China's views and policies in biosecurity, resulting in the report "China's Take on Biosecurity: A Report on China's View, Institutions, Processes, and Technology" (2023). Her professional experience includes policy advocacy and stakeholder engagement at 1Day Sooner and the Alliance for Reducing Microbial Resistance (ARMoR), as well as strategy consulting at Accenture and Global Food Partners. She has worked on indoor air quality policy advocacy in Singapore and Malaysia and pull incentive policies for antimicrobial development in Nordic countries. She holds fellowships from the Tianxia Research Mentorship Program, the Southeast Asia Farm Animal Welfare Fellowship, and the Sentient Media Social Media Fellowship, and was pursuing a Master of Public Health program starting 2025/26. She first encountered effective altruism in late 2021 through the 80,000 Hours problem profile on reducing global catastrophic biological risks.
