Applied Research Laboratory for Intelligence and Security (ARLIS)

Established in 2018, the Applied Research Laboratory for Intelligence and Security (ARLIS) at the University of Maryland is a Department of Defense university-affiliated research center that serves the U.S. government as a strategic asset for research and development in intelligence and security domains. ARLIS develops and maintains deep expertise in human and social systems, advanced computing and emerging technology, and integrated human–machine systems, synthesizing project insights into operational strategies that strengthen decision-makers’ abilities to respond to evolving national security challenges.
