Effective Altruism Israel (EA Israel) is a registered Israeli nonprofit founded in 2018 and headquartered in Tel Aviv. The organization builds the Israeli EA community through four core areas: EA education and outreach (including university fellowships at Tel Aviv University and Hebrew University, crash courses, and public events), career and action support (career consulting and co-working space), effective giving (the Maximum Impact Program which evaluates Israeli nonprofits for cost-effectiveness, and the Effective Giving Israel donation platform), and organizational incubation. EA Israel has incubated several spin-off organizations including Probably Good (career guidance) and ALTER (existential risk policy). The organization obtained Israeli tax-exempt status in late 2022 and has hosted a flagship annual Impact Summit.

Theory of Change
EA Israel believes that building a high-quality, outward-facing EA community in Israel is instrumental to solving the world's most pressing problems. By educating Israeli professionals about effective altruism principles, guiding them into high-impact careers, improving the cost-effectiveness of Israeli philanthropy, and incubating new impactful organizations, the community multiplies its collective impact beyond what any individual could achieve. The organization treats community growth as a means to an end — the end being a materially better world — and therefore focuses on depth of engagement and launching concrete projects rather than raw membership numbers. Supporting the development of AI safety talent and existential risk work in Israel (through programs like information security talent development and the ALTER spinoff) is part of a broader strategy to increase the global pipeline of people working on humanity's most important problems.
